CASE NO: 2:20-CV-02296

CASE STATUS: Settled

SETTLEMENT AMOUNT: $1,300,000

COURT: UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF OHIO

Siegel Law Group served as co-lead counsel and obtained a ~$1,300,000 settlement in this wage and hour lawsuit against Quantum Health, Inc. on behalf of approximately 192 individuals employed as salaried Utilization Review Nurses, Utilization Management Nurses, Pre-Certification Nurses, and other similar positions during the time period at issue. Led by Jack Siegel of Siegel Law Group, the plaintiffs brought this unpaid overtime case alleging violations of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C. § 201, et seq. (“FLSA”) and Ohio wage and hour laws. The case was litigated in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and was captioned Snider et al. v. Quantum Health, Inc., No. 2:20-cv-02296.

The plaintiffs were Utilization Review and Utilization Management Nurses whose duties included reviewing insurance benefit requests and pre-certification requirements. Plaintiffs alleged that they routinely worked more than forty (40) hours per week but were not paid overtime compensation for hours worked in excess of forty hours. Instead, Plaintiffs were treated as exempt and paid on a salary basis. Plaintiffs claimed that Quantum Health’s practices resulted in unpaid overtime and related wage violations under federal and state law. The settlement resolved the claims alleged in the action.
